I’ve tried the cheaper, thinner foam mats before, but these 2cm thick interlocking tiles from ITM are in a completely different league. If you’re dropping hex dumbbells or using a power rack at home, these are exactly what you need to protect your subfloor.
The 98x98cm size is great because you cover a lot of ground quickly, and the interlocking teeth fit together so snugly that you can barely see the seams once they’re laid down. They don’t slide apart mid-workout like the smaller tiles often do. The 2cm thickness provides excellent shock absorption and noise reduction—my garage is much quieter now when I’m deadlifting.
The black finish looks very professional and it’s surprisingly easy to wipe down after a sweaty session. They feel firm underfoot, giving you a solid base for squats and overhead presses, but with just enough ‘give’ to save your joints
