- Non-toxic waterproofing of wooden elements. While the wood is treated, to get some extra longevity from your sand pit, it is recommended that you either varnish or paint it with child-friendly product before the first rain.
- The bottom cloth of non-woven fabric is used to isolate the ground or contain the sand that you put into it. This ensures that the moisture from the ground is not able to dampen the sand.

- Foldable seats allow you to ensure that the seats themselves and the area containing the sand are protected from the rain. To protect small hands, make sure that only adults close these down when the play is finished. The cover also assists in keeping the rain away, but we all know that most of the rain in Ireland is sideways, so the seat covers give you an extra protection to keep the whole area ready for the next play time.
